Can Manuel De'e Corda

An old stone house near a forest of pine trees and junipers was the base of this remodel project. The vernacular architecture of the original structure, with its dry-set stone walls and pitched roof, had a design typical of Formentera. The remodeled home satisfies the current building regulations while preserving the integrity of the original structure. As well, the impact of the redesign on the environment was kept to a minimum.

The new architecture was purposefully fragmented and staggered. It is attached to the original structure’s northeast and southwest sides. The southeast and northwest walls were left intact.
